White Tabular Alumina WTA

WTA Manufacturers & Suppliers in India

White Tabular Alumina (WTA), chemically classified as a high-purity, fully shrunk alpha-alumina crystalline aggregate, is a white, dense, granular or powdered material widely used as a core raw material across high-performance refractory, ceramic, electrical insulation, and investment casting applications. Produced through the controlled thermal processing and ultra-high-temperature sintering of calcined alumina without adding any additives at temperatures exceeding 1800°C, it causes the alpha-alumina crystals to grow into large, tabular-shaped hexagonal crystals, yielding a high-purity (typically >99% Al₂O₃), thermally stable material with exceptional structural compactness.

Due to its exceptional thermal stability and versatility, White Tabular Alumina WTA is vital for heavy industries, steel ladle refractories, purge cones, slide gates, high-end monolithic castables, and advanced technical ceramics.

White Tabular Alumina (WTA) Specifications

Sintered at temperatures exceeding 1900°C to achieve complete recrystallization into dense alpha-alumina tablets, our WTA delivers a high purity of 94% to 98% Al₂O₃ with low iron content controlled at 0.50% Fe₂O₃ max. It features a dense bulk density of 3.3 g/cc and a tight apparent porosity limited to 10% max, providing extreme volume stability, outstanding thermal shock resistance. Graded into standard aggregate sizes (0–1 mm, 1–3 mm, and 3–5 mm), it serves as a premier synthetic raw material for high-performance refractory castables, slide gates, porous plugs, steel ladle linings, and kiln furniture.
